Enfields win national property awards
Estate agency firm Enfields is proud to announce that they have won two coveted awards in a national property awards competition organised annually to highlight examples of excellent service and business management within the industry.
Enfields entered the competition earlier this year and attended a special gala presentation evening at the Royal Lancaster Hotel on Friday 5th October along with 700 other property professionals from across the UK to find out the results. Enfields raised the roof when they were announced as winners of the prestigious 5 star award for Best Real Estate Agency (Hampshire) and the 4 star award for Best Real Estate Marketing Campaign – huge endorsements of Enfields’ service provisions and promotional capability. The Daily Mail Property Awards are in their third year and are part of a global competition which aims to distinguish the highest levels of excellence in a range of property related fields. This year’s candidates were assessed by a professional panel of judges which included Eric Pickles, British Shadow Secretary of State, Imtiaz Farookhi, Chief Executive of the National House Building Council; Peter Bolton King, Chief Executive of the National Association of Estate Agents; and Phil Spencer, property expert and presenter of Channel 4’s Location and Relocation TV shows.
Speaking about their success in the competition, Enfields Managing Director Robert Mott stated, “In what is a highly competitive industry, these award wins provide a reliable endorsement from expert professionals of the superior services Enfields delivers. As an established agency which already enjoys an excellent reputation and superb customer feedback records, we enter such competitions with confidence and a belief that they help prospective customers find their way through the maze of property businesses to find an agency that is noted for their success.”
To win the 5 star award for Best Real Estate Agency (Hampshire) means that Enfields were singled out by the judges for their overall business systems and management structure that has ultimately allowed the delivery of excellence customer service levels. The 4 star award for Best Real Estate Marketing Campaign was awarded in recognition of Enfields’ successful ‘working in the community’ campaign which has not only raised the agency’s profile but has at the same time provided local communities with much needed financial and business support. As part of this initiative Enfields has fundraised for charity, taken part in school fetes and sponsored many local sporting clubs and events. It was this wider concern for the local area in which the business operates that caught the judges attention and encouraged high praise.
Enfields has also celebrated success in the Estate Agency of the Year Awards. The agency scooped the Gold Award for Best Medium Sized Agency in the Estate Agency of the Year Awards two years in a row – 2005 and 2006 and picked up Bronze wins for Residential Lettings and Web & Technology in 2006. Enfields has re-entered this year in no fewer than eleven of the competition’s categories! Results of this industry renowned competition will be announced later this autumn.

Enfields treat customers to a Move-in Munch!
Award-winning agency put the fun back into moving with special promotion
Instead of giving customers traditional estate agency gifts such as a complimentary key ring or a bunch of flowers, Enfields are tuning in to what customers really want on the first night in their new home by providing them with a free ‘Move-in Munch’!
Enfields’ ‘Move-in Munch’ promotion is being launched to treat customers to a free take-away meal of choice when they move in - taking the hassle out of finding the pots and pans and trying to figure out how the oven works on the first night in a new home.
The aim of this special promotion is to put the fun back into moving – a process that is usually regarded as one of the most stressful in peoples lives. Enfields are hoping to offer customers some light relief at the end of their property transaction allowing people to relax after a day dealing with removals and settling the family into the new house.
Enfields’ Move-in Munch will run throughout the month of September 2007 and will be offered to customers who either book a valuation with the agency through one of their seven branches or who agree a sale on a property being marketed by them.
Claiming the free meal has also been designed to be easy with all customers being provided with a leaflet detailing local restaurants and instructions on how to claim.
On their latest promotion Managing Director Rob Mott states, “We have structured our agency to provide customers with a complete service for buying or selling their home. Our aim is to reduce the stress of moving as much as possible and this promotion is designed to provide that little extra to provide complete customer satisfaction at the end of the property transaction. We want customers to sit back, enjoy the first night in their new home and have a celebratory meal on us!"
Enfields short-listed for national property award
Estate agency firm Enfields has been officially informed that they have been short-listed to win a prestigious award in a national property awards competition.
Enfields entered into four categories of the Daily Mail UK Property Awards 2007 this spring including Best Real Estate Agency, Best Real Estate Agency Marketing Campaign, Best Real Estate Agency Website and Best Property Marketing. It has not been revealed which award Enfields has been short-listed for but team members are looking forward to attending the glitzy ceremony being held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London on 5th October 2007 when winners will be announced.
Entries for the competition have been judged by a panel of professionals whose collective knowledge of the property industry is second to none. Chaired by Eric Pickles, British Shadow Secretary of State, this year’s judges included Imtiaz Farookhi, chief executive of the National House Building Council; Peter Bolton King, chief executive of the National Association of Estate Agents; and Phil Spencer, property expert and presenter of Channel 4’s Location and Relocation TV shows.
The highest scoring UK winners will also be judged against other participating countries in the international CNBC Property Awards. Overall winners are due to be announced at a special presentation at the Bellagio Hotel, Las Vegas this November. Enfields will learn whether they have also been short-listed for this part of the global competition later this summer.
Enfields has already celebrated success after scooping the Gold Award for Best Medium Sized Agency in the Estate Agency of the Year Awards two years in a row – 2005 and 2006. The agency has also picked up Bronze wins for Residential Lettings and Web & Technology in 2006 and has re-entered this year in ten of the competition’s categories. Results will be announced this autumn.
Speaking about the recent awards news, Managing Director Rob Mott stated, “To be short-listed in this prestigious awards event is a great endorsement for Enfields. Self-starter excels under Enfields proven business model
In the summer of 2006 Chris Heaps stumbled across Enfields franchise in his search for a viable system that would enable him to establish his own successful business. A year on, Chris has not looked back. He has an established estate agency office operating in North Leeds with plans to build his own branch network and although he has had to work unbelievably hard he talks here about why the past 12 months have been the most exciting in his life. . .
“Having enjoyed a secure career within a global company for much of my working life I suddenly found that I had developed a driving ambition to channel my skills and energy into building my own business. My career was marked by success that culminated in my position of Technical Manager in charge of a large production team and in which I gained considerable respect for a number of achievements including improving production rates and business development on the whole. I developed a confidence in my abilities to organise and motivate people that sparked a desire to invest my skills in my own future and - with that - I set out in pursuit of a business concept that would flourish under the qualities I had to offer.
A keen interest in property made estate agency an obvious choice and as soon as I came across Enfields franchise I started to get extremely excited. The franchise offered everything I was looking for – the perfect balance between autonomy to run my own company with the systems and support to make my venture a guaranteed success. I instantly made an appointment with the franchise recruitment team and after a successful telephone interview in which my own suitability was assessed, I was asked to their Headquarters near Southampton. If I wasn’t already, I was instantly sold on the Enfields franchise when I met Managing Director Rob Mott and witnessed first hand how the Southern branch network operated on a daily basis. Enfields is a modern and enthusiastic company that is not complacent about the importance of professionalism and traditional service - principles that I strongly believe in. Entering each of Enfields’ offices you can feel the vibe amongst the team and it is evident that they are highly motivated and are driven by their own and the company’s success. After my time in Southampton I went home to speak with my family and we jointly agreed that this was the opportunity for us.
The following months were more hectic than you can imagine but exhilarating. I was still in employment but every spare hour was spent finding premises, securing finances, employing staff and training. Every step of the way however Enfields were there advising, guiding and supporting me through.
I launched my business in January 2007 and I have not looked back. Adopting Enfields systems has allowed me to launch with the expertise and a presence that even established agents in the area have commented on. From day one my branch has been able to offer customers complete moving home packages, staff use the latest marketing techniques and technology and I operate my business in a way that promises to be highly profitable – all under Estate Agency of the Year branding.
In my first six months I have crashed through sales and referral targets, developed a substantial property portfolio and customer database, conducted a recruitment drive for more staff 2 months ahead of schedule and even appeared in a BBC Television feature providing opinion and advice on first time buyers getting on to the property market – a superb PR exercise for my business!
With confidence in the future I am now making plans for developing a network that will include branches in nearby conurbations.”
Schools benefit from Enfields’ summer of support!
Agency donates to summer fetes as part of its Working in the Community scheme

The initiative to support local schools has been part of the award-winning agency’s Working in the Community strategy – a scheme launched in 2006 that is aimed at maintaining strong links with local organisations and community groups. To date numerous local schools, sporting clubs and good causes have benefited from the agency’s work that is set to continue in future years.
Speaking about this year’s initiative, Managing Director Elliott Trodd states, “As an agency with branches throughout the Southampton area we believe it is vital to support organisations and causes that directly benefit our customers. Developer reaps benefit of Enfields’ complete service
Agency finds client new site after negotiating sale on complete development
Enfields’ Land and New Homes division is showing customers just what it is capable of after negotiating the sale of all the units on a client’s development shortly before moving on to secure another site for the local house-building firm.
Timber Ridge Construction instructed Enfields for marketing and sales support at its development of 5 one and two-bedroom apartments located on Millbrook Road East and couldn’t be more pleased with the agency’s award-winning services after the team quickly found an investment buyer for the entire block. Enfields’ land team completed the service by finalising a deal for the client on a new site in Northam, Southampton on which properties have recently been released and all quickly sold – again by the award-winning agency.
Peter Rouse from Timber Ridge Construction stated, “We employed Enfields on the Millbrook Road East site because of our confidence in the team’s abilities to market the properties to a wide customer base and the emphasis they place on after sales services to guide transactions through to a swift and successful completion. However we were absolutely overwhelmed at the speed in which they found a buyer and how straightforward they have made the whole process for us. Introducing us to a new development site on the fringes of Southampton city centre and negotiating the sale of these properties shortly after release has highlighted the advanced service levels Enfields’ team deliver.”
Enfields’ Land and New Homes team work hand in hand to service the needs of landowners, developers and new homes buyers alike. The department’s advanced and highly specialised services encompass all aspects of the new-build cycle including initial feasibility studies for development, design and planning, land tendering and acquisitions and the whole spectrum of new homes sales and marketing.

Focus for property industry should now be on HIPs
Estate Agents warned to be prepared as deadline fast approaches
A fairly stable property market and only marginal interest rate increases has resulted in many property related businesses reporting a successful first quarter in 2007, but with the introduction of Home Information Packs pending, Estate Agencies in particular are being warned that now is not the time for complacency and are being urged to ensure that they are prepared for what could be the single biggest shake up to hit the property industry for years.
Enfields has followed Government plans for the introduction of Home Information Packs closely and claims that many agencies could be seriously caught out if they are not fully prepared for the implications Home Information Packs will have on the day-to-day running of their business when they become mandatory on the 1st June. Indeed Managing Director Rob Mott states, “Enfields has enjoyed an excellent start to the year with many previous sales records being broken and having the luxury that our biggest challenge this year has been instructing property quick enough to keep up with demand! However, whilst it is easy to relax we are a large full service agency and as such we are always looking ahead to ensure we respond positively to changing market trends. We welcome the positive changes that Home Information Packs promise to bring to our industry but for businesses that are not prepared, HIPs could potentially lead to their downfall!”
Enfields has kept a close watch on the Home Information Pack debate, conducted its own survey on customers and taken part in regional trials and as a result has witnessed first hand the potential challenges facing estate agency businesses. Mott explains, “There is overwhelming confusion amongst many customers as to the content of Home Information Packs and where to go to get them produced. As a result of our research and participation in Government trials we have been able to tailor our systems and train staff to respond to enquiries appropriately and capitalise on our provisions for producing HIPs to enhance our complete service ethos.”
Enfields believe they have established the perfect partnership with now hips a registered Home Information Pack provider that will enable the agency to process Home Information Pack enquiries so that property can be placed on the market rapidly with the minimum of fuss to clients.
Dan Butt, Managing Director for now hips states, “We have been working extremely closely with Enfields to ensure our service is amongst the best on the market. We share Enfields passion for keeping excellent customer at the forefront of every operation and as such have designed systems that will see Enfields’ customers benefit from all the advantages Home Information Packs are intended to make to the property sales cycle. Trials have revealed that our advanced systems deliver prompt, competitive and hassle-free Home Information Pack solutions for customers.”
From 1st June 2007 every property placed on the UK market must have a Home Information Pack. The packs will contain information relating to the property’s energy performance, title, Land charges register, local enquiries and drainage and water searches. Enfields urge customers thinking of selling their property to contact their local Enfields branch now to discuss how they can save hundreds of pounds.

Enfields open fifth franchise branch as tenth operator signs!
Key milestones reached in agency’s expansion plan for 2007
Enfields is celebrating after reaching important milestones in its expansion plans to broaden its network throughout the UK. The opening of a fifth franchise branch in Ruislip, Middlesex signifies the agency is halfway to seeing plans to have ten franchise businesses up and running by the end of 2007 realised and the fact that a tenth operator has also just signed has brought confidence to the Franchise Recruitment Team that this target will be successfully met.
Franchise Partner Azam Razaq, who has two business degrees and has accumulated years of business expertise following a successful career in banking, will manage the Ruislip team located on Victoria Road, Ruislip Manor. When questioned on his decision to launch his business under the Enfields brand, Azam stated, “Enfields’ system has proved itself to be second to none compared to other business packages out there. The resources available allow for the very best estate agency service to be delivered and the support structure for establishing my venture has been phenomenal. I am very much looking forward to building the Enfields brand as the first choice for customers seeking a complete home moving service throughout the Ruislip area.”
With a further five franchisees now signed and preparing to launch over the coming months in Bournemouth, Northampton, Enfield and two in Bristol, Managing Director Rob Mott enthuses, “We could not be more pleased with the progress the Franchise Recruitment Team has made in establishing the quality partnerships needed to see the plans for Enfields’ market expansion realised.”
Achieving these milestones comes on the heels of Enfields being nominated for five categories at the industry acclaimed Franchise Marketing Awards 2007 – a great boost for the company that has achieved notable status among would-be operators as the leading UK property firm for training and supporting franchisees since launching just over twelve months ago.
Enfields franchise provides the opportunity for self-starters to administer their own estate agency with all the sales, marketing and administrative support they need from the firm, whilst benefiting from total autonomy over the day-to-day running of their business. Successful business scheme gains industry approval just twelve months after launch
It was only launched in 2006 but Enfields’ successful franchise scheme has already been singled out for recognition when it was nominated for no fewer than five categories at this year’s Franchise Marketing Awards.
The property agency, which has recently opened its fifth operation in Ruislip, Middlesex as well as confirming its tenth franchise signing, was short-listed in a number of categories including Best Franchise Launch Programme, Best Overall Marketing Campaign, Best PR Campaign, Franchise Recruitment Team of the Year and Best Recruitment Literature.
The Franchise Marketing Awards are organised annually to recognise the industry’s most innovative and effective marketing campaigns for products, services and franchise recruitment. This year’s event was held at the luxury Marriott Hotel, London and hosted by BBC presenter Lee Hurst.
To be short-listed for five of the competitions ten categories is a great boost to Enfields which has plans to roll-out 150 branches throughout the UK by 2012. Managing Director Rob Mott states, “ Enfields franchise has had a spectacular first year with the team exceeding our launch year targets. We have developed a well-organised business scheme that provides ambitious self-starters the perfect balance of the freedom that comes from running their own business with proven systems that are backed by an excellent support structure. We are proud to be recognised for our efforts and believe that this is a real indicator to would-be operators of the unique opportunity Enfields franchise provides for establishing a highly profitable estate agency business.”
Enfields’ franchise scheme has already led to the successful opening of five branches in new conurbations including Basingstoke, Portsmouth, Leeds, Hythe and Ruislip. A further five confirmed signings will also see the firm launch in Northampton, Bournemouth, Enfield and two offices in Bristol.
These recent nominations come on the heels of the agency being voted Gold Estate Agency of the Year 2006 for the best medium sized agency – an accolade that Enfields has retained for two years. The firm also received Bronze Awards for Residential Lettings and its Web & Technology provisions at the National Estate Agency Awards and Managing Director Rob Mott picked up the coveted Judges Awards at a southern-based business awards ceremony towards the end of last year.

Enfields complete run for local charity
Enfields raised over £700 for charity partner Simon Says by running in B&Q’s 10k event held on Sunday 25th March.
PA to the Managing Directors, Jan Whitewick and Training Director, Chris Challis have been in preparation for months and completed the course that started from Fleming Park Leisure Centre, Eastleigh in just 52 minutes.
The B&Q run is organised annually and this year Enfields chose to support its nominated charity partner Simon Says – an organisation dedicated to helping children who are bereaved. Proceeds raised from last week’s run will help Simon Says volunteers carry out their invaluable work which includes maintaining an advice line, holding seminars for child carers, building links with local organisations and schools and providing activity days for bereaved children. Enfields also raised over £2,000 for the charity in January when the agency hosted a silent auction at its staff awards ceremony.
Simon Says was founded 5 years ago by Sally Stanley after her husband Simon died following a terminal illness. Realising that there was little support available for her two children, Sally established the charity that now has 18 volunteers. Without the support of the public and initiatives, such as Enfields, this much-needed service would no longer be available.
For more information on how you can support Enfields in raising funds for Simon Says please contact head office 01489 865895.

This role encompasses all aspects of recruitment and I am thoroughly looking forward to working with the team to drive forward the agency’s recruitment provisions.”
On welcoming Sharon into the agency managing director Elliott Trodd stated, “ Our recent success at the Estate Agency of the Year Awards was a great end to a highly successful year. Enfields’ New Homes team build on success with Jo at the reins!
Enfields Land and New Homes is building on its successes of last year with Jo Hewitt taking the lead as co-ordinator of the new homes division.
2006 was a superb year for the department with the team securing involvement in a number of key projects throughout the Southampton area, and most notably, the excellent performance demonstrated at the City Annex launch in the summer when all 34 of the units released were sold within 72 hours for developer client Clydesdale.
With Jo driving performance levels throughout Enfields’ branch network, the new homes team are proving that 2006 was no exception by getting this year off to a fantastic start. In the first quarter of 2007 the team has negotiated deals on a number of new sites and the agency’s extensive new homes buyer-base continues to grow due to the appeal of the full service provisions available.
Jo Hewitt claims, “The department is in a strong position to deliver a first–class service to our developer clients. The team’s focus is on securing sales with prompt completions - a target that is aided by pre-qualification of all buyers, advanced marketing systems and a fully trained sales force. Also adding to our competitive edge is a unique legal system that we have established to speed up the sales cycle enabling rapid results for clients.”
The latest company to endorse Enfields’ advanced new homes services is the UK’s leading house builder Persimmon Homes. After sampling the team’s capabilities on the first two phases of their Southampton development, Chapel, as a joint agent alongside their own on-site sales office, Persimmon was so pleased with Enfields performance that they handed over full responsibility for the final phase.
The development is located in St Mary’s, Southampton – an area that has undergone an extensive regeneration programme and has become popular with buyers due to its close proximity to the city centre. Enfields are now marketing the remaining properties available at Chapel that includes a selection of one and two bedroom duplex apartments and three bedroom townhouses.
Tracey Lee, sales manager for Persimmon’s South Coast region, comments on Enfields services,” As Chapel is now at its third and final phase, this is the last time for Southampton residents to purchase an award-winning home for the foreseeable future. This proposition, combined with the skill and expertise of all at Enfields, has resulted in over a third of the properties being reserved since their launch at the beginning of the year. ”

Enfields set to fundraise for Simon Says
Enfields has nominated a local charity as the beneficiary of some key fundraising events planned for 2007. The charity set to benefit from the agency network's efforts is Simon Says - an organisation dedicated to providing bereaved children with access to much needed help and support.
Although Enfields will remain dedicated to supporting a full range of community groups and events, this year it was voted to organise a number of additional fundraising activities to help a specific charity so that a real difference could be made.
A final strategy is still to be agreed but initial fundraising ideas include a family fun day, golf tournament, auction evening and there has even been talk of an Enfields management parachute jump!
Simon Says was launched nearly 5 years ago to help children deal and cope with the loss of a loved one whether it is a parent, sibling, relative or special friend.
Local mum Sally Stanley established the charity in memory of her husband Simon who died of a terminal illness. During their experience the family realised that whilst there was plenty of support for adults there was none readily available for their two children. Sally became dedicated to improving access to support when children suffer loss.
Simon Says now has 18 volunteers who work throughout Hampshire to provide advice and assistance in dealing with child bereavement. Charity representatives maintain links with schools and community groups, hold seminars to educate child carers, operate an advice line, provide counselling and organise a number of activity events for children.
The charity's patron is local BBC newsreader Sally Taylor.
